I began to write Nursing and Editing as a way to address several situations that had been going on in my life at the time.  When I graduated from nursing school, hospitals were not hiring new nurses and I found myself having to leave my job in a hospital to try to find a professional nursing job.   My search for a position took a little over a year but by that point a close family member was diagnosed with cancer and needed assistance.  Trying to find the balance between professional career and personal life is quite hard and I am struggling with it today.  During this time I also returned to school for my Masters degree in Informatics.   I wanted to write something that was real and that people could relate to and find some hope in.  If we all let ourselves find some peace and give each other time, we can find the joy in life without missing the moments.

Glimpses of Light is comprised of poems and lyrics that were written over the course of twenty years.   I was given a poetry assignment in high school and really did not think I had a talent for writing.  However, my teacher saw that I did have a talent for writing poetry and encouraged me to write.  Writing has helped me through tough times and allows you to express yourself in ways that you would not necessary allow yourself to go. This collection of work started during my high school years and continued through present day.  The themes include growing into oneself, love, family, loss and hope. My hope is when you read this work that you can relate and feel inspired to live.  

I wanted to write a piece that merged my love of soccer and romance.  With this work, I believe I have successfully accomplished this goal.  There are other themes highlighted in this story:  the coming of age journey,  working hard to achieve dreams, family relationships and coming to terms with a different life path than what was planned for. Although the story takes place in the late 1970s though 1985, I believe that it is still a relevant story to tell.  I hope that you will consider reading this work and be inspired.  Happy Reading!

Hello everyone, During this challenging time, it is important to make sure that you are doing things that will feed your soul.  For me, writing has been a big part of feeding and nourishing my soul.  I am currently working on the sequel to "Nursing and Editing".   My goals are to put my work out there and share my work with the world.  It is a risk but it is one that I am willing to take.  I want to live a life of no regrets.  I hope that you will consider my work and provide feedback.   Please let me know what activities you do to feed your soul.
